I published the fourth novel in the Legend of Alm series in late August, and, to celebrate my birthday, I ran a 5-day Kindle promo from September 6-10. It resulted in 387 folks downloading my book. I've not received any feedback yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully, someone reads it!
I'm also excited to be currently working on the follow-up, another science fiction called The Incandescents. Here's an off-the-cuff synopsis:
In The Incandescents, we are introduced to Journeyman Ashe and the religion that has grown up around Slate Ahn, the main character from the first three books in the world of Alm. Many of Alm's people see in the strange light-beings discovered in the Undiscovered Lands a connection to Slate, and it gives the religion a new intensity, that Ashe carries with him over the Anir Ocean to New Aislin, a voyage now made easy by new ship designs.
All of the old friends from The Vanished Colony are back as well. Marion and Elliah Dahl set off on another fantastic adventure across the Undiscovered Lands. They are confronted by beasts and birds and find more wonders than they ever left searching for.
Collis and Nolan are key operators in the military's move to explore the mysterious interior of the Undiscovered Lands. When they discover an energy shield that prohibits their progress, submarine trips under the continent's shelf and tynarium-robotic megasuits reveal even greater enigmas.
Lure, meanwhile, starts a business for the rich, running trips to the Empathy Stone and the original, abandoned colony. However, with so little about the Undiscovered Lands understood, Lure's operation proves to be disastrous, if only for the terrors it unleashes on the minds of its participants.
This one's going to be fun, I think. Obviously, the plot may change, but I've written the outline for Book 6 (no title yet) alongside this one, so they fit together like a puzzle, and I'm pretty locked into it. I'm excited to get it all down and out for those who wish to read it!
