Citizens known as Aislineans
Aislin’s main focus is education, mainly as the result of influence from the native Oognook culture. Apart from being where Slate Ahn acquired his first pieces of the Book of Knowledge, the city has bestowed many gifts of knowledge on the world, and its schools and universities remain to this day the best on Alm.
Alrifal’s Great Library was built in Aislin after the sage left Proterse, when the ground on which the modern city sits was known as Faolinmead. There were just two cities on Aelioanei before the comings of the Protersian Pilgrims; Faolinmead, at the northern Bin Inlet, and Kraya, near what is now known as Magri. The transformation of Faolinmead into Aislinn sparked much of the island’s evolution, while the city struggled to find its own identity amidst the materialism of the south and the stoicism of the north.
The city today is an important stop for Ahnites and non-believers following Slate Ahn’s Trail, a path that winds from South Airyel to Alleste. Tours of the underground library at the Falls Historic Monument are extremely popular, and should be booked early.
