In the time before the First Fall, Alm's humanity bore great variation. People came in many shapes, colors, and sizes, due mainly to the species adapting to Alm's different biomes through the course of evolution. It is only because most modern-day humans on Alm claim ancestry in Aurora Falls that the species is now so similar.
Adantals were a group of extremely tall and fair humans, who maintained a primitive way of life in the Aelioanean Islands for hundreds of thousands of years. They were suspicious of outsiders, and warred with those who came to their shores for most of Alm's early history. They produced little art, though Adantal language was one of only three world languages to develop separately from Protersian. The language persists only as mentioned in early seafaring accounts, as it was completely lost, along with the race, in the First Fall.
Rumors of Adantal sightings persist to this day in the Aelioaneian Islands, though for a species to have existed for thousands of years in hiding seems improbable according to most zoological historians. Modern-day Adantal hunters will tell you differently, and charge you a fair amount to go out on a safari to spot one of the legendary creatures.
